From March 28 to 31, 2024, the 29th Academic Conference of the Chinese Society of Pathology and the 13th Pathology Annual Meeting, organized by the Chinese Medical Association (CMA) and its Chinese Society of Pathology, was successfully held at the National Convention Center in Beijing. Professor Manfred Dietel from Virchow Laboratory was invited to attend the event and delivered an insightful presentation titled "Diagnostic Molecular Pathology as Prerequisite for Precision Medicine".

On the afternoon of March 30, during the Sino-German Pathology Forum, the first session was co-chaired by Professor Manfred Dietel (Academician of the German Academy of Sciences, Director of the Virchow Pathology Institute at Charité Hospital Berlin, and Chief Scientist of the Virchow Laboratory Group) and Professor Zhiyong Liang (Director of the Department of Pathology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Chairman of the Chinese Society of Pathology, Chinese Medical Association). Scholars from China and Germany presented insightful research findings on topics related to pathology and oncology.
At the forum, Professor Dietel elaborated on the critical role of molecular pathology in modern precision medicine. He also showcased innovative therapeutic strategies for RNA sequencing-based anti-tumor vaccines and highlighted their promising therapeutic outcomes.

During the four-day itinerary, representatives from Sino-German Virchow Laboratory Group’s affiliated center laboratories participated in the event alongside Professor Manfred Dietel and President Fei Mu (Chairman of the Group). The delegation actively engaged in learning from conference presentations and held in-depth discussions with multiple exhibitors, gaining valuable insights. The knowledge acquired and collaborative experiences established during this trip will further facilitate the translation of scientific research achievements and the implementation of high-quality products within the Virchow Laboratory ecosystem.

This conference coincided with the 70th anniversary of the Chinese Society of Pathology, Chinese Medical Association (CMA). Centered on the theme of "Heritage, Innovation, Development", the event reviewed the challenging yet fruitful 70-year journey of pathology in China and looked ahead to a new phase of dynamic growth in the field.
In recent years, traditional pathology has gradually transitioned toward digital and intelligent pathology. The Virchow Laboratory, with its internationally leading platforms and technological systems in pathological and molecular diagnostics, has developed multi-omics platforms focused on molecular pathology, integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Leveraging advanced remote digital solutions, the laboratory has also established the Sino-German International Telepathology Consultation Platform, providing medical institutions and patients with services such as complex case consultations and rapid diagnostics, thereby supporting fast and precise clinical decision-making.
