In 2015, the Sino-German Virchow Laboratory Group was established in Hong Kong and has since set up branches and central laboratories in Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, and other locations. Led by Professor Manfred Dietel, the Chief Scientist, Member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, and Chairman of the German Society of Pathology, the Group boasts a remote pathological collaboration network with over a hundred pathologists from dozens of pathological academic institutions in Europe. It has also introduced the brand standards, management system, technical standards, and laboratory specifications of the Virchow Pathological Institute in Germany, aiming to establish an internationally leading center for histopathological and molecular pathological diagnosis, a Sino-German remote pathological consultation center, a training center, and a research and development center.
