On the morning of May 28, prior to the commencement of the promotion meeting, leaders of Hangzhou Municipality conducted on-site inspections of "dual-engine" and "dual recruitment and dual introduction" projects in relevant urban districts and Qiantang New District, divided into four groups. Among them, municipal leaders Pan Jiawei, Xu Xiaolin, and Hu Wei, along with heads of municipal departments including the Municipal Committee's Organization Department, Municipal Committee's Publicity Department, and Municipal Financial Office, as well as Gongshu District leaders Zhu Jianming, Sun Jianfu, and Yang Jun, together with responsible officials from Shangcheng District, Xiacheng District, Xihu District, Fuyang District, Lin'an District, and Chun'an County, visited the Sino-German Hangzhou Virchow Medical Laboratory for inspection and guidance.

Accompanying the reception were Zhang Xiaoping, Chinese Chief Representative of the Sino-German Health Organization; Luo Hong, Party Committee Secretary of the Affiliated Hospital of Hangzhou Normal University; Zhang Cheng, East China Regional Head of Virchow Medical Laboratory; and Hua Cong, Zhejiang Regional Head of Virchow Medical Laboratory.

Under the introduction of General Manager Zhang Cheng, Chairman Pan Jiawei and his delegation learned about the development history and background of Germany’s Virchow Laboratory and the Sino-German Virchow Laboratory Group, as well as the establishment background, main business operations, phased achievements in development, and core strengths of the Hangzhou Virchow Medical Laboratory.

Following the tour of the laboratory area, Chairman Pan Jiawei engaged in a video call with Academician Dietel, Chairman of the Sino-German Health Organization, Academician of the German Academy of Sciences, and founder of the laboratory, who was based in Germany. The delegation also observed a live demonstration of the international remote consultation platform. Chairman Pan specifically expressed full recognition and praise for Hangzhou Virchow Medical Laboratory’s strengths in applying cutting-edge remote technologies and facilitating international talent exchanges.

Academician Dietel expressed heartfelt gratitude for the care and support provided by various departments, including the Municipal Government, the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the Municipal Committee's Organization Department, the Municipal Health Commission, and the Gongshu District Government. He emphasized that Virchow Laboratory will remain rooted in China while bridging with Germany, striving to become a top-tier scientific research and pathological diagnostics platform in China and building Virchow Medical Laboratory into a globally recognized brand. "There is still much we can achieve at this stage. Achieving full coverage of life-cycle testing will be the responsibility and mission of all Virchow professionals!"

Chairman Pan Jiawei highly commended the achievements made by Hangzhou Virchow Medical Laboratory in less than a year. He encouraged the laboratory to build on its strengths, further advance international exchanges in talent and technology, strengthen and elevate the enterprise’s capabilities, shoulder greater social responsibilities, and contribute more robustly to the development of Hangzhou’s public health sector and the advancement of global talent collaboration.
